Volunteer for SFSTL!

Handing out programs at our 2008 FestivalJoin us in Shakespeare Glen, our office, at special and educational events - SFSTL survives and thrives because of volunteers like you!

Our driving force is the hundreds of volunteers that participate throughout the four-week run in Shakespeare Glen, Forest Park.  The Festival is supported almost entirely by contributions, so volunteers are the life-blood of our operation.  Volunteering with the Festival is fun, social and rewarding.  Volunteering for the Festival is one way to support one of the city’s leading arts institutions with your most priceless gift: your time!

We also need volunteers throughout the year to assist in the Festival office and help with special events, education programs and hospitality.  Please fill in the form below to join our volunteer email list - thank you!

Volunteer Committees:

Shakespeare Glen Committee:  One of the Festival's driving forces is the faithful support of hundreds of volunteers who participate throughout the four-week run in Shakespeare Glen in Forest Park. Each evening, the Festival needs between 30-50 volunteers to help with ushering, handing out playbills and surveys, and supporting souvenir and concession sales. It's called a "play," so we are serious about having fun!

Special Events Committee:  Special Events volunteers assist Festival staff with planning, hosting, and staffing events such as Party on Art Hill, The Tempest Ball, Spring Luncheon, and more. If you like a good party, this committee is for you!

Hospitality Committee:  Hospitality volunteers work hard to make our out-of-town actors and artists feel welcome and at home in St. Louis. They assist staff with apartment set-up, welcoming events, and transportation.

Office Committee:  The Festival office is the core of our organization. Office volunteers assist our staff year-round by helping with mailings, data entry, and other administrative tasks.  Office volunteers can help on a "one and done" basis or schedule regular hours in the office.

Education & Community Outreach Committee:  Shakespeare Festival St. Louis is committed to its education and outreach programs for students of all ages. Education and Community Outreach volunteers help with staffing at Education Program events and summer opportunity fairs. They also assist with Community Outreach Programs such as Shake 38 and Shakespeare in the Streets.
