Education

MISSION and PROGRAMS:

Throughout the year, Shakespeare Festival St. Louis provides a variety of resources for students and teachers to explore Shakespeare. The Education Department’s mission is to deepen our community’s understanding, appreciation and connection to Shakespeare.

The objectives of all Education programs are:

  • to engender mutual respect among all participants
  • to build analytical and literacy skills through the examination of Shakespeare’s verse
  • to inspire imaginative thinking as students explore the play
  • to foster creativity as students create designs and characters
  • to provide a showcase for acquired skills building both confidence and self esteem

The Education Department has three categories of programming—Education Tour, School Programs and Community Partnerships. Through the Festival's Education Programs, students are challenged and engaged while enhancing their ability to read, watch or perform Shakespeare.
