SFSTL Education Tour 2009 production of Quick-Brewed Macbeth wins Kevin Kline Award for Outstanding Theatre for Young Audiences

March 23, 2010: Shakespeare Festival St. Louis received the Professional Theatre Awards Council’s Kevin Kline Award for Outstanding Theatre for Young Audiences for its Education Tour 2009 production Quick-Brewed Macbeth. This is the second consecutive year that SFSTL's hard-working Tour was so honored; Me & Richard 3 won in this same category for 2008. Adapted from Shakespeare’s Macbeth by SFSL Education Director Christopher Limber and Andrew Michael Neiman, the company included Michael B. Perkins, John Flack, Jennifer Marissa Bock, Elizabeth Birkenmeier, Khnemu Menu-Ra and Stage Manager Anna Blair, and was directed by Christopher Limber. 

Performed by five professional actor/educators, Quick-Brewed Macbeth and SFSTL's other 2009 touring show Windsor Live! were performed 126 times in repertory to area schools and community venues. Each year, the Festival takes Shakespeare on the road, visiting over 125 schools and community venues, entertaining and educating more than 25,000 students of all ages.
