Shake-38 is SFSTL's Shakespeare marathon that takes place all over St. Louis preparing the community for the Festival. We are going to be making some really exciting changes to Shake-38 for 2012! In order to support audience attendance, we are going to spread the 38 plays over five days leading up to the Festival's first preview. Running from Friday, May 18 to Tuesday, May 22, Shake-38 events will run from noon to 8pm each day!
In line with Shakespeare Festival St. Louis' core values of Community, Conversation, Collaboration, we're going to encourage participants to take their readings/performances to unexpected places...nursing homes, inner-city schools, community gardens, and neighborhood pubs & restaurants! We will also collaborate with other arts groups and not-for-profits on multiple events in St. Louis' neighborhoods and parks. Specifically, we are hoping to have some events in the inner city, Straus Park, and Tower Grove Park.
Shake-38 signups start today! IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SHAKE-38 IN 2012, PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL CONFIRMING YOUR PARTICIPATION AND 3-4 PLAYS YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PERFORMING. Contact Assistant Producer Carl Schneider at Shake38@sfstl.com to sign up!
