Shakespeare Glen in Forest Park

A record 56,000 of the picnic-loving, play-going public attended our 2010 production of HAMLET - plan to join us for SHREW!

Note: Performances are wheelchair accessible. Thursday performances are signed for the hearing impaired.

Admission: The Festival is FREE! There are no tickets required for admission. However, donations are greatly appreciated! Please give during your visit to Shakespeare Glen, donate online, or send a check to the Festival office. Either way, you'll be supporting the best (and only!) FREE Shakespeare in St. Louis!

Performances: Performances nightly May 27 through June 19, 2011 at 8 p.m. (no performances on Tuesdays).  Preview performances will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, May 25 and 26.

Nightly pre-performance Green Show entertainment starts at 6:30 p.m., featuring performances of Shrew in a Few! (a 20-minute adaptation that introduces the show's characters and plot), Juggling Jeff Koziatek, and Circus Kaput's Josh Routh. Click here for more Green Show information.

Location: Shakespeare Glen is located on the east side of Art Hill in Forest Park (between the Saint Louis Art Museum and the St. Louis Zoo, just off Fine Arts Drive).  Visit our Getting Here page for directions, public transport options, parking information and more.

Seating: Seating at the Festival is first-come, first-served, on the open lawn, so bring your favorite blanket or lawn chair and make yourself comfortable. A limited number of rental chairs are set up in the front center section of the audience, and are available for $10 and $7 each - to rent seats, visit the Information Tent in the Festival Lobby between 5:30 - 8:00. 

Food & Drink: Before the show, enjoy a picnic on the green! Purchase something delicious from the Festival’s concession partners Shakespeare Catering LLC.  Concessions include grilled items, salads, snacks, desserts and more. Beverages include soft drinks, wine by the bottle or glass, coffee and coffee drinks and smoothies. Click here for the 2011 menu!

Weather or Not (Rain Policy): In the event of inclement weather, performances may be delayed up to one hour. Should conditions persist, that evening's performance may be canceled as a last resort.
