Shakespeare Glen in Forest Park

More than 46,000 of the picnic-loving, play-going public attended the 2009 Shakespeare Festival St. Louis production of The Merry Wives of Windsor - plan to join us for Hamlet!

Admission is free.

Performances
Performances are scheduled May 28th through June 20, 2010 at 8 p.m. (no performances on Tuesday, June 1, Saturday, June 5, Tuesday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 15).  Preview performances will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, May 26 and 27.

Nightly pre-performance Green Show entertainment starts at 6:30 p.m., featuring performances of Trippingly Hamlet (20-minute adaptation that introduces characters and plot), Juggling Jeff, and Josh Routh, the Fire-Eating Clown. The 2010 Green Show schedule is in process; in past seasons, the Green Show has included Lectures on the Lawn by local scholars, performances by The Kingsbury Ensemble, Missouri History Museum, COCAdance, and our own Shakespeare Festival Youth Ensemble. Note: Performances are wheelchair accessible. Thursday performances are signed for the hearing impaired. 

Location
The Festival is located on the east side of Art Hill in Forest Park (between the Saint Louis Art Museum and the St. Louis Zoo, just off Fine Arts Drive).

Seating
Seating is on the open lawn. Audience may bring a blanket or low folding chair. Rental chairs are set up in the front center section of the audience, and are available for $7 and $10 each - to purchase seats, visit the Information Tent in the Festival Lobby between 5:30 - 8:00.

Food and Drink
Before the show, enjoy a picnic on the green! Bring your own feast or purchase something delicious from the Festival’s concession partners. Concessions include box dinners, grill items and snacks. Beverages include soft drinks, wine by the bottle or glass, coffee and coffee drinks. Purchase Ben & Jerry's treats from our souvenir stand.
